Week Eight Nutrition Challenge….

No Dairy.


You grew up drinking milk and eating cheese but could dairy actually be causing health problems like weight gain, heartburn, lack of energy, high cholesterol, joint pain, migraines, lactose intolerance, and even irritable bowel syndrome? 

For some people dairy products may be completely harmless, but for others a dairy free week could be a wake up call and improve your quality of life. So give it a try…what is the worst that could happen? Absolutely nothing…you have no reaction, no change then go back to dairy. What is the best that could happen? Your body feels lighter, your stomach calms down and you could simply just feel better!!

You know dairy free means to steer clear of yogurt, milk, cream, butter and cheese but it’s important to read labels. The following list is an example of how milk can be slipped into foods, so keep an eye out for these ingredients:

  • Acidophilus milk
  • Buttermilk
  • Casein
  • Caseinate 
  • Cream
  • Curds
  • Galactose 
  • Ghee
  • Lactalbumin 
  • Lactate 
  • Lactic acid
  • Lactoglobulin
  • Lactose
  • Malted milk
  • Milk powder 
  • Milk solids
  • Nougat 
  • Potassium caseinate
  • Rennet
  • Sodium caseinate 
  • Whey

Eliminate this destructive habit and watch your life change. 

How often do you grumble and complain?

We all need to vent and complain but it is really important to pick the time, place, and person. Complaining can become contagious! If you feel the need to complain, ask yourself…Will this matter tomorrow? And if it will, then turn the complaining into action and face your complaint head on. Whether it be a person or situation make a conscious change.
